Major Dick Amick and board Chair Diane Nichols welcome Tom Zupancic of the Indianapolis Colts to The Salvation Army Advisory Board

Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the Indianapolis Colts, Tom Zupancic, was installed as the newest member of The Salvation Army’s Advisory Board on Wednesday.

Tom joined the Colts Organization in 1984 and served as the Strength and Conditioning Coach until 1999.  He is an active ambassador for the Colts and serves on the boards of the Children’s Bureau, CYO Board, Speedway Exchange Club, Leukemia Society, 21st Century Charter School, Fountain Square Charter School, The GEO Foundation, and the Board of Trustees for the University of Indianapolis.

Tom is a graduate of the University of Indianapolis and was inducted into the U of I Athletic Hall of Fame.  He was named the NFL’s Stength and Conditioning Coach of the Year in 1995 and was inducted into the Indiana Football Hall of Fame in 2000.

Each member of The Salvation Army’s Advisory Board brings a unique set of talents, experiences, and connections to the community which are valuable to The Salvation Army as it strives to serve the central Indiana community in an effective and efficient manner.  “We are thrilled to welcome Tom Zupancic as our newest member.  He brings a wealth of experience to the board,” said Diane Nichols of Perkins Nichols Media and Chairperson of The Salvation Army Advisory Board.

The Salvation Army established the local “Advisory Board System” in 1920. It was designed to enlist local professionals, business and civic leaders to provide support to the local unit of The Salvation Army. The Advisory Board is charged with the responsibility of advising and assisting The Salvation Army in all its activities in the Indianapolis community.
