Summer is finally here and it’s time for our youngsters to experience the joys of camp! Boys and girls in Indiana look forward to this special time every summer. The Salvation Army summer camps at Hidden Falls in Bedford changes lives and provides a refuge for many needy children. For some kids, it may be the first time they have ever seen wildflowers, held a turtle or had enough to eat.
The Salvation Army recognizes that children’s experiences and relationships can have a profound effect on their futures. Camp at Hidden Falls provides the perfect opportunity to make a long-lasting and positive impact. By teaching the Gospel to youngsters – and at the same time introducing them to the beauty of the countryside that is so different from wherever they call home – camp opens needy children’s eyes, minds and hearts to a whole new future of endless possibilities.
At Hidden Falls, campers will explore and enjoy a wide range of activities including tennis, basketball, soccer, boating and more – as well as traditional activities like Bible studies and arts and crafts. Some camps offer ropes courses to teach boys and girls confidence, trust, and teamwork. Others have special “theme” programs, such as character building and music.
For more than a hundred years, summer camp with The Salvation Army has helped underprivileged youngsters all over the country experience new opportunities. These days everything seems to cost more, but Salvation Army camping has held onto its value over the decades. For approximately $375, we can send one child to Hidden Falls Camp – including transportation, lodging, food and supplies – for a whole week of life-changing fun! You can help send a child to one of our camps and find out how to register a child at www.sacamp.org.
