On Monday September 15, The Salvation Army held it’s 17th Annual Estate and Charitable Gift Planning Institute in Minneapolis, MN. The national event was broadcast via the web to locations all of the country including Indianapolis, Evansville, Terre Haute, Lafayette, Fort Wayne, and Bloomington in Indiana.
In Indianapolis, more than 100 CPAs, finance officers, financial planners, trust officers, insurance agents, and attorneys attended the event. The seminar was offered free of charge and in some cases, continuing education credits were offered to those attending.
The featured guest was once again Mr. Roy M. Adams. Mr. Adams is the Managing Member of ROY M. ADAMS & ASSOCIATES PLLC, a partner of CONSTANTINE | CANNON LLP. The two firms are formally integrated and affiliated for the practice of law including major emphasis in the fields of trusts & estates and litigation.
The scope of the event made a big impression on those that attended. “This is the best charitable gift seminar in the country,” said Diane Nichols of The Salvation Army’s Advisory Board. “You normally don’t think of a charity doing something like this and doing it for free. Were giving them something of value.”
In Indiana, the annual seminar is put on by The Salvation Army’s Planned Giving Department. If you would like to find out more about estate and charitable gift planning, visit MyPlan2Give.org.
