Angela Cain talks Coats
September 14, 2009 by Kristen
Mike starts off the show with a story of our emergency disaster services’ work in Taiwan in the aftermath of Hurricane Morakot. Kristen then defends her baby against Jeff and Mike’s idea to name her Morakot. But that’s not the worst of the name ideas from these two this morning!
Luckily, WTHR’s Angela Cain joins us and diverts the attention to a worthy cause, Bob Gregory’s Coats for Kids. This year’s campaign marks the 23rd year for collecting coats for kids in need. We’re anticipating a higher need this year with many parents’ out of work or struggling to make ends meet. So, if you’d like to help us make sure Indy’s kids have a warm winter, you can drop off a new or gently used coat at any Tuchman Cleaners, at Apple Fest on October 1 or at the Colts collection day at Lucas Oil Stadium on October 4. The deadline for coat drop-offs is Monday, October 5. We will distribute coats to kids in need at the Indiana State Fairgrounds on Saturday, October 10. Go to wthr.com or salvationarmyindiana.org for more information on how you can donate or volunteer at this event.
