Goodwill towards all men, seeking nothing in return – this is what’s at the heart of volunteerism. Are you looking for ways to bless others during this holiday season? There’s more to us than just red kettles. The Salvation Army has a variety of opportunities in need of your time and talents as a volunteer!
Not ready for the holiday festivities? Get in the mood by joining us here at The Salvation Army’s Divisional Headquarters, 3100 N. Meridian St., as we kick off the Christmas season with our annual tree lighting ceremony on November 19.
After the lights go up, it’s time for the elves to start getting those toys ready for Indy’s kids. Who doesn’t like toys?! Our volunteer coordinator Elizabeth says, “Everybody loves to come help with distribution, but no one wants to set up.” What a fun project for you and a friend, or even the whole family! Come help make this year’s Toy Shoppe more special than ever! We need your hands and feet as we prepare to put a little joy in Christmas for each child that receives a gift.
During the months of November and December, there are a host of fun ways you can get in on the spirit of giving. Just to mention a few – there are meals to be served, deliveries to be made, and gift baskets to be packed. Won’t you put aside a little time in your busy schedule and share with us in loving our neighbors? It’s as easy as picking up the phone and calling our volunteer coordinator at (317)232-1010. And, though you seek nothing in return, your reward will be knowing that you made a difference for someone.
