Four days after Friday’s devastating tornado, another storm system moved across Indiana bringing with it more tornadoes and more destruction.
While The Salvation Army continued to serve responders and residents at the Falcon Point Apartments, two more Emergency Disaster teams were mobilized to areas of Rush and Shelby Counties to respond to the latest destruction. Currently, both teams are providing snacks and hydration to responders and victims.
At the Falcon Point Apartments, Salvation Army relief efforts entered their 5th day as responders and residents were again provided with meals, snacks, and hydration. Today, thanks to a generous donation by Chick-fil-A, The Salvation Army was able to provide hot chicken sandwiches for lunch and dinner. To date more than 1,600 meals, 30 cases of Gatorade, and 25 cases of water have been provided by The Salvation Army. In addition to food and beverages, The Salvation Army has provided 39 families with $200 vouchers for Salvation Army Thrift Stores. These have been very important to some families who have lost everything.
