If you haven’t adopted an angel this holiday season yet, JCPenney is providing some extra incentive worth acting on! Help spread cheer to even more children, teens and seniors in need through the Angel Giving Tree online program with an extra Thanksgiving Day bonus! JCPenney is donating $50 for every angel adopted on Thanksgiving Day (up to $400,000). The online program is simple for even the less tech savvy consumer. Visit the JCPenney Angel Giving Tree website to adopt an angel in the community of your choice. Make it a Thanksgiving Day tradition with your family, church, or club.
Nearly 800 families benefited from our Angel Tree and Toy Shop programs last year. This year, we’ve already experienced an increase in requests for assistance. In addition to the Angel Giving Tree program, you can help Hoosiers with financial hardships by supporting these additional Black Friday initiatives. JCPenney is inviting Black Friday shoppers to check-in to any JCPenney store using Foursquare and JCPenney will donate $25 for every check-in made between 4 a.m. and 1 p.m. (up to $100.000).
Don’t forget the Red Kettles on Black Friday! With 140 locations throughout the city, you can’t miss that familiar holiday icon. You can support The Salvation Army’s Tree of Lights campaign, which funds our programs and services all year long, by giving generously whenever you see a bell-ringer with a kettle.
