Partners in Doing the Most Good

The Salvation Army has changed lives and given hope to countless people throughout the nation. But it never does it alone.

Why should I volunteer?

You can make a difference, you can become a volunteer.
“The look on their faces. You see the appreciation and the hope in their eyes when you lend them a hand and help them up. It makes my heart melt and reminds me that I can give back in so many simple ways.” This was the response of one of our volunteers when asked, “Why do you volunteer?”

So, what’s motivating you to give back and help us in Doing the Most Good? No matter what is it, chances are we have an opportunity for you. From helping a child receive a warm winter coat, to assisting a family as they shop for toys for their kids at Christmas to ringing a bell, to helping serve a meal – the possibilities are numerous.

Become a Bell Ringer! These opportunities take place across the entire state of Indiana. You can hear the bells ringing in every community during the winter season in front of grocery stores, malls, and at special events.  The funds raised by bell ringers goes directly back into the community. Money dropped into a red kettle during the holidays supports local Salvation Army programming that serves people in need all year long.

Volunteer for Angel Tree! Angel Tree is a unique holiday assistance program that connects a generous individual or group with a deserving child (or “Angel”) in need.
