It was beautiful day at the Golf Club of Indiana, home of this year’s Golf 4 Giving Open.  The annual event is sponsored by The Salvation Army’s Women’s Auxiliary, an organization which supports the programs and services of The Salvation Army. This was the 11th year for the event and for the second year in a row, WISH-TV8 anchor, Eric Halvorson, was the host.

Last year’s event raised more than $28,000 for The Salvation Army in Central Indiana and organizers were hoping to even better this year.  In addition to a beautiful day of golf, the event also featured a lunch by Applebee’s, dinner by Bravo’s Italian Restaurant, and a silent auction.

Proceeds for this year’s event went to support Homelessness Bites, The Salvation Army’s Homelessness Initiative.  “With the current economic difficulty and request for assistance up, I was more than happy to be here and help The Salvation Army help those in need in our community,” said Eric Halvorson.  “The Salvation Army is impacting lives right here in Indianapolis, just as they’ve done for many, many years.”
