Food should never be out of reach for any child. Yet, over 17 million children are at risk of hunger in America. Sacrifice this Easter to help prevent childhood hunger in the Greater Indianapolis area community. Give of yourself to help a hungry child.
– Can you spare a few cans of food?
– Can you share your time to educate others about how they can help?
– Can you give up your coupons to help feed hungry children?
We’ll kick-off the Global Youth Service Day (GYSD) weekend with a special childhood hunger awareness event on Friday, 4/15 from 11 am-5:30 pm at The Salvation Army Divisional Headquarters located at 3100 N. Meridian Street, Indianapolis, IN 46208. Everyone is invited (all ages) to stop by to learn more about childhood hunger and to find out what they can do to help. Please bring non-perishable food items! West Coast Tacos will be on site for lunch along with K-LOVE Radio. Visitors can sign-up their children and/or youth groups for our Bite Back Brigade, enjoy free popcorn, help create Easter baskets for children at our shelter, take a photo with the Easter bunny, bounce around in our giant kettle bounce house, and drop off canned food and/or coupons. *NOTE: Easter bunny photos will be from 3:30 – 5:30 only.
Visitors can also pick-up our Easter package and find out how their Sunday school classes and/or youth groups can sacrifice to prevent suffering this Easter. All participating groups will have the chance to win a Kettle Bounce House party.
Sacrifice is the ultimate Easter message and that is why we are asking Greater Indianapolis area children, youth, and young adults to join the Bite Back Brigade and help alleviate childhood hunger during Global Youth Service Day (GYSD) weekend from Friday, 4/15 through Sunday, 4/17.
