In the shadow of this exciting spectacle, The Salvation Army Indiana is in the last two days of its fundraising for the Tree of Lights Campaign – the main source of funding for all services and programs in 2012. While our Emergency Disaster Services Canteens are serving meals for security personnel working the Super Bowl area downtown, the Army is need of Indy’s help too.
Successful and proven Salvation Army programs each day assist the homeless, addicted, poor, afflicted, elderly and less-fortunate youth in our community. Throughout the state of Indiana, the Salvation Army exists as a catalyst in helping people change their lives for the better. But these services require a great amount of finances to meet the needs of those who come to the Army for assistance.
The Tree of Light’s current total raised through the Christmas season is $2,958,347. Sounds like a great big number (and it is!), but with a budget goal of $3,200,000 that leaves $241,653 still needed. January 31 is the final day of fundraising for Tree of Lights and the need is still great. Can you help us? Every donation counts, no matter the amount. You can still donate online here, or by mailing a check to: 3100 N. Meridian St, Indpls., IN 46208.
The Salvation Army cares deeply for Indy and is grateful for everyone who contributes to Doing the Most Good here. And in keeping with this week’s theme – we think you’re SUPER!
