On Tuesday May 13, The Salvation Army’s Social Service Center held a style show entitled “Empowering Women: Presenting a Professional Image. The show featured residents of the center wearing fashions from the “Sallie Shop”, a place within the center filled with donated clothing.

Six wonderful clients donated their time to participate in the show. Volunteer Marla Olinger choreographed a dance to Ricky Martin’s “La Copa de La Vida.” Lorrie Algate, volunteer and advisory council member, came early to give the models Mary Kay makeovers before the show. Response Church helped with planning, decorations, and provided desserts.

Along with showing of the fashions, the event featured important information about Domestic Violence in Indianapolis and how to get out and stay out of DV situations. This was the second year for the event.
