The Salvation Army Chicago Staff Band is making a rare appearance in Indianapolis for two exclusive concerts on March 25, 2017.
The first concert will be in one of the most beautiful performance spaces in the State of Indiana, the historic Pershing Auditorium at the Indiana War Memorial at 431 N. Meridian Street. All attendees will have access to free reserved street parking and provided with a parking permit to display in their vehicles. The concert begins at 2:00 p.m., but visitors are encouraged to arrive early to allow time to explore the Indiana War Memorial’s expansive museum, which includes an exhibit honoring The Salvation Army Donut Girls of World War I. In 2017 we are celebrating the 100th anniversary of the first “donut lassies” to arrive on the front lines in Europe, ready to serve and comfort homesick American soldiers.
The Salvation Army Chicago Staff Band will offer a second performance later in the evening at 7:00 p.m. on Indianapolis’ northeast side at Castleton United Methodist Church. This modern facility offers state-of-the-art acoustics and can accommodate up to 650 guests. Located at 7101 N. Shadeland, Castleton UMC has ample parking on its property and is fully handicapped-accessible.
