Apple Fest will feature fresh apples from Adrian Orchards

The Salvation Army will host its 6th Annual Apple Fest this Thursday, October 1st, on Monument Circle in downtown Indianapolis.  The lunchtime event, which runs from 10:30 AM through 1:30 PM, will features great food, live music, giveaways, and more!

Lunch items will once again be provided by Applebee’s Restaurant and Costco.  Hot apple cobbler and ice cream will be provided GFS Marketplace, and Adrian’s Orchards will again provide the fresh apples.  Local area band Bandwagon will be cranking out live music with hits from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, and today.  [Listen to an interview with Bandwagon]

Lunch is just $5 and the apple cobbler dessert is also just $5.  All proceeds will go to support Homelessness Bites, The Salvation Army’s campaign to end homelessness in Indianapolis.  Nearly 30% of the homeless in Marion County are children with the average age being just 9 years old.  Sadly, these numbers continue to grow as more and more people are losing their jobs and their homes.  You can help simply by enjoying some great food in the great outdoors.
