On March 2, 2012, a storm front quickly approached southern Indiana.

The Salvation Army was on the scene in Borden and Clark counties by 6 p.m. assisting first responders. It soon became clear that the devastation covered a much broader area.

In the aftermath of cleaning up, plans were made to rebuild. And now, a year later, with help from the Faith-Based Recovery Group Volunteers Rebuilding Our Community (V-ROC), The Salvation Army remembers the devastation by celebrating its recovery.

Over the course of the last year:
• 251 homes were repaired
• 11 homes were completely rebuilt from the foundation
• 9,757 volunteers generously gave their time
• 121,967 hours were given by volunteers
• $2,449,765 = the value of in-kind volunteer hours

Join the celebration during a community parade 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Henryville. For more information, call the New Albany Salvation Army Corps at 812-944-1018 or visit its webpage: www.SANewAlbany.org
