Pops Pays a Visit
Children at the Ruth Lilly Women and Children’s Center day care and preschool were delighted when their afternoon was interrupted by an orange and blue clad clown.
Pops, Jay Ricker of Ricker’s Stores alter ego, wanted to stop by the Block of Hope to visit with children, staff and residents.
He brought with him photos to autograph for the children. Each child sat on his lap and got their photo personalized. They shared jokes and laughs.
Pops also brought six $25 Ricker’s gift cards. Residents’ names were drawn for the cards which will help with the cost of transportation to and from work, employment interviews or hospital appointments.
This isn’t Pops first visit to the Ruth Lilly Center. He’s attended Christmas parties and even served lunch. It also won’t be his last visit.
